Our Programs & Services
Bounty Bags. Every Friday, we offer an ever-changing selection of free produce, loaves of bread, baked goods, dairy, and proteins. The items change every Friday and are first-come, first-serve. Community members in need can visit us every Friday as necessary throughout the month. All food is provided free of charge. For the Elderly and Single mothers who have no transportation free delivery to their homes is available upon request and availability of volunteers.
Turkey Walk. In cooperation with Servant's Heart Ministry, we provide a turkey and all the “fixings” for a holiday feast to households who pre-register during October and November. Families will receive a turkey, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, butter, and pie.
Project Kidsgift. Every December, we gift children between the ages of newborn – 14 years old with a package containing toys, board games, books, stocking stuffers, and winter weather clothing.
Back to School Program. In cooperation with Kidsgift, every last week of August we offer school supplies such as notebooks, pens, crayons, paper, scissors, and backpacks to families in need throughout Orange County.
Care Closet. This program offers families and individuals free personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Qualifying individuals can request for free clothing to help them stretch their dollars. Each person in the household can choose 6 articles of size appropriate clothing.
Warm Hearts. Individuals and families in need of a winter coat can visit our location from November to March 1st and receive one coat per household family member for free.
Birthday Fun. We love helping our community neighbors celebrate their children’s birthdays. Parents/Guardians can fill out a simple registration form at our site location during our regular business hours prior to their child’s birthday. They can then come into our Center on the day of or the day before the birthday and receive an age-appropriate birthday present, birthday cake, and party supplies from our Birthday Fun Center. (Identification showing the child’s birthday must be presented.
Fresh Start. This program helps individuals start over with simple household wares and bedding. This program is intended for those suffering from tragedy, re-entering society, or first-time independent living.
People’s Café is available to everyone, in cooperation with Amicus Commissary, serving continental breakfast and lunch every Sunday. Donations are gladly accepted but never required. Not available at this time but soon to open.
Skills & Business Program. This program. in cooperation with Northstar University is educating young people about sustainability, food distribution, organic farming practices, food insecurity, community initiatives, HVAC technician program, and business skills through hands-on experience at a local center, or here at Amicus Commissary. It teaches about food preservation, branding, marketing, social awareness, skills, and technical training. See www.northstaruniversity.net
Amicus Commissary. A licensed Commissary that assists small businesses - hot dog carts, food trucks, and commissary trailers with their licensing, parking, electric, water, and waste disposal.
HVAC Technician Training. In cooperation with Northstar University, we provide career training to youth and adults who wanted to become an HVAC Technician by providing a Fast Track program. Northstar University is an Approved Training and Testing Center for the National American Technical Education (NATE). See www.northstaruniversity.net
Dialysis Technician. In cooperation with Northstar University, we provide career training to youth and adults who wanted to become a Dialysis Technician by providing a 6 months Fast Track program. Northstar University is an Approved Training Provider of the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT). See www.northstaruniversity.net
